Heres a look at downunder where I live.
Pic 1 is where a mate of mine actually lives, on the goldfields.
He recently struck a gutter at 12 foot deep and found nuggets up to 5 ounces. 70 oz all up.
Pic 2 is one of the bits he got.
Pic 3 is typical of the workings in the area done by the old timers.
Pic 4 is a huge mullock heap about 80 foot high and about 300 long, part of a deep lead working.
Pic 5 is one of our typical bush sunsets.

(one of the worlds most deadly snakes), I would regulary hook sea snakes when fishing (also super deadly), some over 6 to 7 feet long, once I hooked a croc in the surf when fishing for salmon
, he was only on for a few seconds. And for a large part of the year the beaches had squillions of stinger jellyfish there. And yet QLD is the most popular place to holiday for us Aussies.
