Starting the end of May and into June for 10 days my oldest son and I headed up to Mn for some walleye fishing. As we were into fish fishing, I didn't get much detecting in, but did get a few hours in over all at the resort which has been around since 1912. Having stayed there for 25 years, it is pretty picked over, but out of the beach sand did snag a 1901 Barber dime, several wheat cents, a 1935 Buffalo nickel and a couple of bucks in clad.
Once I got back and the dust settled, I, and on occasion my hunting buddy, started hunting the spot that was giving up some modern era silver and a few 40's and 50's wheat cents. Shown are the silvers I have recovered from the site since early in the week, along with several not so trashed toy cars and some Memphis Cotton Carnival tokens and misc pieces.
All this week I have been using the Fisher 5 x 10 DD coil. The site is not overly trashy and the 11" DD gets along on it good, as well.
With temps getting into the 90's now, hunts are early and shorter. HH jim tn
