Back to old town but no silver

Old Katz

New member
I drove back to the old town I've been MDing.
I asked this young fellow if I could detect around
his house. See attached photo of an old Hotel
built next to his house in the 1900's.I called the
realtor who is selling the hotel and asked permisson to MD
but they said no. It turns out this young guy
owns the land that butts right up to the east wall.

His yard has lots of trash so all I got from it was lots of
torn up pieces of pop can and pull tabs. Didn't find much but did
walk away with my frist Buffalo nickel, 1916 and a wheat cent
also 1916. I guess it wasn't such a bad day.

He came out and watched for awhile so I asked him if he wanted to
try MDing. He had never done it before so I gave him the
Ace, showed him how to use it and for awhile he was happy
tooling around the yard digging up pull tabs. I switched to my
MXT and found the nickel.

I think I might have made a convert.
