Back to the Honey Hole.

Got back out to the HH that gave up my barbers tonight. Sadly there was alot of activity on the ball field though no one bothered me..

While I wasn't able to convince the football field to give up another silver I did put a dent in its clad stock pile, and a few were pocket spills. And I had four digs that had mutiple coins stacked against each other ( the zinc'r, dime and nickel one gave off one funky signal  ) .

Came up on what I thought was going to be my umpteen zinc for the hunt and I pulled a wierd looking yet thick size 7 ring from the hole alas no gold. Continued across the field collecting a few more clad coins and got a consistent 21-22 signal at 5" ( was more like 4" ) and dug a bent ring. Boys I thought I had just lucked into a thin chain patterned gold ring ( some of the wife's thin gold bands have given 21-22-23-24 IDs while air testing ) but again it was a junker. But hey usually when I dig the 21-22-23-24 numbers its can-slaw/ foil/ or the metal band from a pencil, so I'm more than happy to add another ring to the pile :D

Hope you all did better today.

Those multi-denom stacks and spills sure do give a funky signal and number! I bet a lot of detectorists dismiss them as junk. Every clad stabber or deep coin hunter should experiment a little...i bet a lot of old coins still in the ground have a penny or a nickle on top of them. I once got a wierd signal that turned out to be two silver quarters inside a case that had a brass button and snap on it... Great post on the rings too...you were in the right place to go after any zinc or those light foil signals for rings...a mens class ring hits right there in the zinc. :clapping:
Mud

Mud I have a good haul of zincs especially crusty ones along with nickels from this location with high hopes of snaring my first class ring.

These new rings added to the total take from this location for jewelry bring me to 3 rings and a matching pair of sterling stud CZ earrings, and 5 silver coins. I haven't really focused to hard on the non-coin signals here.

Though I need to get in gear with this spot, I know school will be back in and may limit when I can hit this spot.

Good digging! Junk rings are still fun finds. You seem to be digging the gamete of numbers for gold. One of these days you will see the glint of gold in the dirt. How are your digging conditions over there. Right around my home base our ground is good from the rains last week, but much of it missed some of the surrounding areas and digging now is like working through concrete in those spots. And, of course, that is where all the good stuff resides. LOL HH jim tn

Jim it is a pleasure digging right now. Boy did that little bit of rain make a world of difference. And your right about the surprise gold. I'm at three so far this year. Two most recent ones were found with my tesoro while the F75 was down with the dead coil. But I did air test the 10k ladies wedding ring and sure enough 22-23 ID numbers are what came up. The only gold the 75 has found was a tot lot 14k heart shaped lockette that rang up 33-34 . Honestly I was half expecting a nickel or a pull tab.
