Put the 6 1/2" small football shaped coil on this morning thinking it perhaps could navigate into and under spots that the big 11" couldn't. It could, but everything I dug seemed to be in easy to swing over ground. No silver coins this outing, but did get a 1890 V nickel, 1900 IH cent, 34 and 42d wheat cents and the sterling Boy Scout ring. The first picture is of the V nickel. I had given it a spit rub, but didn't know for sure what it was until I got home. The IH was actually my first dug target, but forgot I had the camera in my pocket until after I had dropped the IH in my water bottle. LTD running 85 sen. disc 0 and 4h tones. Not shown are the foil, tabs and bottle caps. Digging lot of targets from the 20's up looking for that gold coin for mud. Not that I wouldn't mind one myself. HH jim tn

Like that Silver Ring..... and nickel for sure

Yeah! Thats a cool ring alright! I bet it has better than melt value to a collector of Boy Scout memorabilia. I dont know the history of such a find, but I bet its pre 70's at least.

I'm thinking it has a bit of age to it, too. I have found a couple other sterling Scout rings of late, but that one is a little different. It was a little deeper then the usual targets, also. HH jim tn

Wow, nice digs to say the least.
