Back to using DP...cool token

REVIER

Well-known member
A rain shortened hunt this morning but managed to find one cool thing in a neighbor's lawn.
This is a token sold in the vicinity of the Natural Bridge in Virginia, a tourist spot with great history.
Could be old, maybe more modern into the 60's to 70's.
The dirt I had to scrub off of it was thick and just like the kind I have to deal with on objects from 80-100 years ago but who knows.
Might have been standing straight up, a really short signal I believe I missed several times before with a Mojave, a Red Racer and the F70 in monotone and multi tones but DP made it stand out this time.
DP, DE, Sense 75, Thesh on -1.

Might have been part of a keychain or made to be worn as a medallion.
Large and brass, the size of a half dollar, a good luck token with a hole that had to be sold in the vicinity of a famous landmark in Rockbridge County, Virginia.

Great history about this place, it used to be said that Niagara Falls and this site were the top 2 places to visit in this country if you wanted to consider yourself well travelled.
Washington supposedly surveyed it in 1750, Jefferson owned it and the surrounding land for awhile, still a top tourist destination.

DP tones on the F70, the one past 4h going up...Pretty much a different tone for each number that pops up.
Also the only tone choice directly tied into the VDI numbers on the screen so technically the fastest.
All the other tone choices don't seem to have any lag time, it is imperceptible to most, but compared to DP there is some.
Stands for Delta Phase or maybe Delta Pitch...I forget which one.
Standard tone choice feature on the F70/F75/T2 and the Patriot.
A very busy way to hunt, can be confusing at first too but it can be learned.
I don't use it all the time, some do, but in my dirt it seems to get pretty deep signals fairly stable and has some great unmasking abilities if you know the signs.
It took much practice a little at a time on several hunts to get used to it but now it is easy...and useful.

Out of the ground this thing does not act exactly like most regular sized tokens which are usually about the mid 60's, this was 75 so more like a dime.
In my iron infested soil where most everything up averages it was mid 80's to low 90's but constant and no drops lower so I pretty much suspected it was a good target.

More about DP here and how it has helped me in the past...

Well worth putting in the effort to learn to utilize it in my book.
