And what a nice welcomed serchcoil it is for my needs. I ran it with zero discrimination, multi-frquency. And it performed well. You see, I was metal detecting a river, which has a base of mixed gravels and cobles. So, I had to compete with hot rocks, minerals and multiple pieces of rusted nails, amongst other junk targets. The iron audio was turned down to one as there was so many annoying iron targets. The sensitivity was set at 6/8 for better stablity. These settings created a very stable audio, with great separation between targets and the ability to easily isolate higher conductivity targets like copper and silver.

The rings (#21 and #22 for this year) shown really made my day! The copper ring registeres numerically in the high 80"s and the 22K gold ring at 61. Both gave a strong distinct audio signal, in all directions, absent of iron audio grunts.

I found some more of those sports medallions. The mystery of these numerous found, different medallions remains?

And, yes.....I also got a nice amount of flour gold.

I think the lowest numerical number ring I got was in the middle 40's.....small gold thin ring. Most read a bit higher. There are so many factors that affect a rings reading on a detector. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a detector which would read gold with a 100% accuracy.

Yes that would be nice.
Maybe if someone comes out with a pi vhs machine that combines the return signals a processor may be able to do it.
Maybe I'm thinking gold nuggets getting into the upper iron range.
Been a long time since I poked around for nuggets.

Id be happy with on 50% !!!! Even coin readings arent accurate 100% of the time.

Could you just imagine cherry picking gold rings in a park ????

Wake up from that dream !!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

I often dream of those possibilites too! It gives you sweet dreams.:giggle:
Now I know how those Canadian coins sound. I had one of my best coin digging days in long time.
After a double hurricane off shore produced absolutely NOTHING om the beach for 3 days !!!! I went inland.

I was cherry picking for hi conductor coins, copper pennies, dimes & quarters. Most of my parks and school yards have also been
very slim pickens. Went to a HS that re-did their bleachers. I love hunting bleachers as its quite a challenge but can be very lucrative.
Seems as those they decided to use concrete. The bleacher seats had no gaps. Nothing could fall through. As I made my way around
from home side to visitors, the grass was loaded with quarters. Found several pairs and one 4 quarter hole. Total 25 quarters !!! Best day in a very long time.
Then i got this weird bouncey signal. Had to dig to see what it was ..... Toonie !!!!! Wow !!! Now I know your pain !!! My next trip to England, I hope to run into a Canadian
and treat them to a cup of coffee !!!

PS I did clean up the toonie as I like the bear vs Charles....

PPS Finally found a silver ring and 1953 Rosie. Back in the day, silver didnt count as they were plentiful. Now, its like finding a gold ring !!!!

Nice work.
Them bleachers with all the wrapper junk can really be a pain.

Back in the day when they were set in grass, it was a field of coins and rings. Too trashy for gold but lots of fun.
It was a great place for training.

Unfortunately nowadays, most are being re-built on concrete pads. When to a favorite tot lot and saw piles of dirt. All fenced in
and the equipment was set on a solid rubber mat. Have lost many lots with this new mat. Its getting harder and harder to have fun !!!
