Barber Club Finally!

Dug my first Barber Dime today! Of course it is so worn I can't make out the date. It was about 6 inches deep and the cursor was bouncing all over the place. When air tested at home, it comes in really low. About where a wheat would register. Found with EXII and stock coil. Thought I would share it with you folks.

..worn silver will read like a wheatie on the explorer. Hope ya find a ton more. Jim

I still remember my first Barber dime even though it was found many years ago. Nice part of the hobby always another first..Seems like worn dimes, next to junk, turned on edge come in the area you describe. Those that investigate rather than depend on a cursor get some real nice coins over the years...

Thanks for the good words guys! Those Barbers are hard to come by in this part of the country. The first settlers did not arrive here till the late 1880's. And even then they were poor as dirt. I'm still looking for that first injun!
Thanks,
Aaron

I'll never forget mine.........ahhh...the barber half that I scratched.....
Enjoy,
Tim

and I still remember the location and depth and so much more about it for some reason...the second Barber was found in 2001!! Long time between coins!!

The feeling and memeries are still fresh in my mind as i found(and posted)my first Barber dime 1901 way back on DEC.4th,04.........W T G.

Congradulations Aaron!!
I entered the club this spring too, Come to think of it, it was just after I upgraded to an explorer, strange coincidence huh? I must have sat there looking at it for 10 minutes waiting for my heart to slow back down. It wasnt in real great shape, but man it was cool. I now have 6 more to play with, as well as a couple seated!
You know what you need to do now? go find yourself some more!!! <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> <img src="/metal/html/super.gif" border=0 width=26 height=28 alt=":super">

Well it's about Time. Just kidding. I know in some area's it's harder to find them than others. That's a wonderful find. like they say you never forget your first. Enjoy the memory, it will last a lifetime.
Tom

I had to hunt for years before I found my first Barber. Way to go!
