Barbers-Mercs-Chinese coins

Ron (CA)

Member
Got these out of an old Chinese District basement. (dirt floor) Then picked one up in the park.

10 Chinese coins
4 barbers
2 merc
Buff (23)

The coins had a nice crust on them. Since they were not key dates, I got pretty aggressive and "Cleaned" them up. Got a 1916 S Merc and a 1916 S Barber in the same day!! That Merc had me going for a while!!

The old newspaper was tacked to the floor joists. You could still read parts of it. June 1910.

SE got most of them with the 5" coil, but I did pick out a few with the F75 and the 4" Place is loaded with iron. Will have to go back and rake more or sift.

Talk about some nice assorted finds. Nice going.

Nice finds Ron. I hunted with a guy a few days ago who used an F75 sometimes too. He loves his and goes back and forth between it and his SE.

you might want to bring a good magnet if the iron is loose...
