barracuda pulse unit

Thinking of purchasing a pulse unit for use in the northeast(beaches). How do the top line units match up on performance and features. Looking at the anchor electronics Barracuda unit, Aquastar II, Deepstar II and the minelab SD2200. Any thoughts on the matter. How about hot rocks for each unit?

According to Reg, he said the Foster PI units don't respond to hot rocks.
I think you'll find that the Barracuda is similar to the Surfmaster PI after Mr. Bill does his mods.
The Deepstar (I have one) seems much more sensitive to small gold than my Surfmaster, or any other detector I've seen for that matter. I've compared it an SD2200 on the beach and I think the Deepstar is about the same on depth, maybe a little deeper, but I think a bit more sensitive to small gold. You should get together with Mr. Bill, who sells Eric's detectors, and see for yourself how well they do. He's up in that neck of the woods somewhere <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
For build quality, you can't beat either the Deepstar or Aquastar...
