Beach Hunter Id?

kd4hee

New member
I just picked a used beach hunter id and got out a few hours with it. I was wondering what kind of depth i should be getting at the beach? i am used to using a Excalibur and that goes pretty deep. I also noticed when i turn the sensitivity way up to make it changes the tone of signals? I also noticed the toggle switch does not stay in all metal. Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks,
Kevin

I bought a used one about 2 years ago with a bad switch. The seller said he "forgot" to tell me about the switch and refunded my money but I was still out the shipping cost. Your switch is definitely broken if it will not stay in all metal. The BHID is a pretty good machine if you have clean beaches. My beaches aren't. I used an Excalibur for the 1st time recently and I can tell you it is far superior to the BHID in areas with lots of iron.

Some of the boots are too stiff and keep the switch for staying put.

The switch is broken. If you didn't pay too much for the machine you should get that repaired.

I would contact "Bob" at the White's VA repair center (really nice person) and discuss getting the switch fixed and the coil upgraded to the Super 12" at the same time!

The new coil is amazing and as deep or deeper than my CZ20!

The coil is around $199.00 + $60.00 for the install (add s&h too). I bet you could get a good "package deal" price with the added switch repair too.
