I have a bounty Hunter pioneer 505 what is the best setting to use on the beach? Also I have the garrett pro pointer to help me out does anyone have any tips?

Find what settings make it run stable and as deep as possible, check out a few scrap targets like tabs, foil and nickels and adjust accordingly before you get going serious...cover lots of ground, dig everything for a while, even iron, that way you will get a good idea whats going on. Be prepared to walk a lot, take along a water bottle, and try not to go during the heat of the day.

like mud said, experiment! don't expect the 505 to work in the wet sand or water, stick to the dry sand towel line areas and you will find plenty if you don't mind digging a lot of trash.

If the bounty hunter isn't that good in the beach area what machine is?

now you've opened it up! Use that BH for a while...you will do just fine on the dry, and theres all sorts of loot of the gold and silver and coin variety there that seldom gets swept up by the water guys...case in point...up on the dry...off to the side of the main beach...any dang guy with a coil would have found it. nOw, if you get the serious jones for water/beach hunting, you will have to do some research as to what detector to get...no help here without homework on your end...theres plenty of posts for you to read here regarding such..let me warn you, its a tough and usually unproductive venture, but if you like covering miles and miles of sand between beeps, it may be for you...you can lose the Propoint and get a good light sand scoop for this...by gosh I hate beach sweeping...I do it none the less since I live close by and the season here is short.
