Beachscan/Deepstar Coils

Ignoring the head to shaft fitting difference, are the Beachscan and Deepstar coils the same ? Deepstar sounds a little mushy so I would like to swap coils to narrow down the problem to control box or coil.
 
Go the PI forum and ask Mr. Bill or Eric Foster himself. But I don't believe they are the same from what I have read. Good Huntin. John
 
Hi Brian,
The coils are not the same. It is very unlikely the the coil is the problem. Why not send your Deepstar in for a service? Just the control box (less battery) and coil are needed.

Thats old age creeping up.
Eric I have a friend visiting in a few days time so will check his coil on my machine and if no improvement will return my control box for a checkup (plus the fragments of copper we discussed).
