In the last few days I have been busy...up to 10 and a half hours one day alone shovelling snow...snow blowing snow. Stayed over night at the hotel in a room as we were expecting even more snow through the course of the night and no sense in running to and fro back to home and work...leaving Sherry to fend for herself. The hotel has a snow blower that is not working so had taken mine to work and glad I did as there was about 8 inches of the white stuff to go through one night and later another 6 and another 4 inches of snow. I am still trying to catch my breath. Sherry said I have worked everyday for the past 14 days - tomorrow will be day 15 - without a day off. There is an event tomorrow and more snow is also expected so guessing I will be back at it again tomorrow and also later will have to tear down the set up for that event and set up for a christmas party scheduled for Friday or is it Saturday???
Not complaining about working with so many wishing they had a job or had their jobs back (my prayers are there for you guys and gals) but would like a day off. Sherry has a Christmas party down in Lansing on the 15th so even if I don't get any other day off will need that one off. Sherry continues to be in pain. Also, I read sometime...earlier today??? that Doug's son Brian was having more difficulty and a heart wrenching situation...let me find it and attach the info from Doug....
Here is the info from Doug....sorry it is almost a day late getting to you all:
"The first week home.

It's been a little rough since we got home. It took Brian a few days to recover from all he has been through. He mostly slept through his 14th birthday Monday, but by Wednesday he was becoming his old self again.
We are all adapting to the tube feedings but they aren't enough to make him feel full and there have been a couple of instances when I had to pry a box of Cheez-its from his hands. It is torture to all of us. We hate to eat in front of him, yet we have to. Whenever Carol or I go to the store we instictively reach for foods Brian likes to eat. Then put them back.
The worst day for me so far was the day I walked into the kitchen and Brian was looking longingly at the pantry. He would pick up an envelope of chocolate chip muffins and just stare at the picture, then set it down and pick up a box of his favorite crackers and stare at it for awhile. Big tears formed on his cheeks and he just hung his head and cried and cried. So did I, inside. Brian's best friend Garrett was staying overnight and he started to walk in the kitchen, but when he saw Brian, he just sadly shook his head and walked into the living room. He understood.
I have heard people talk about heartache and always considered it a figure of speech. But, I have found out that a heart can truly ache. Sometimes I wonder how much my heart can take. It is a real pain, sometimes a sharp stabbing pain. But it really does hurt.
As the week progressed Brian has gotten stronger and regained a lot more energy. Then, yesterday afternoon he started complaining about a pain in his left side. I thought it was just muscle pain from the way he had been sitting in his wheelchair and gave him his meds and feeding and put him to bed. This morning, he was still complaining but after taking his meds he seemed to feel better. We had an appointment with his ENT this afternoon so I told him we would have him check his side while we were there. The ENT said he thought the tube may have been infected and sent us to the ER at Children's to have him checked. An x-ray showed a blockage in his intestines and a large amount of gas backed up. An enema fixed that problem and Brian is feeling much better. The ER doc said she didn't think it was infected but they took a swab from the incision area to send to the lab for testing. She said if we didn't hear from her in a few days then all is well.
Brian is sound asleep now and resting peacefully. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

Sorry Doug I didn't get this posted sooner...as you see I have been a bit busy with that white stuff (still have yet to mail out the package to you and family Doug and still haven't gotten the Secret Santa gift in the mail yet either).
I really have no complaints when I see all that Brian has been through and all that Sherry has gone through and they continue to deal with. May God bless them both and provide them both with good health again in His glorious name I pray. Amen.
Oh I forgot to mention Sherry's Mom in an attempt to not to take a shower or bath, tried to end her life by inflicting damage to her throat...attempted suicide and is now in a hospital downstate where they will monitor her very closely and get her medications readjusted. Please pray for her as well. Thank you.
Love you all
(is that snow I hear falling? just kidding)
Blessings to you all
