Since I got the nice deal on the two dressers, I've been working like a dog redoing the office and the garage. I had sutch a nice deal for the two dressers (paid around 200 bucks for both), the wife told me i had to change my office desk as well. So off to the Staple store. There, once again luck was with me ( or conspiring against me considering the work load i've pulled !). I found a matching desk made of the same kind of wood... In liquidation! Brand new, but probably a line they got ridd off and I only paid 69 bucks for it.

So once i got back home, it was time to remove everything from my office... and that means a lot of stock! All my old furniture, library, tons of box filled with old finds, tumblers and other cleaning equipment. I put everything in the garage and you couldn't move a box in there anymore.

The I assembled the new office desk and the wife redecorated the place. Now it's a neet place the wife wont be ashame off since it has a patio door leading to the pool area :)

Here is my... our shall I say "our" new office :

That done, it was time to do something with the garage if i wanted to have a place to clean my finds and take pictures of...

I filled 4 large wheel bucket of trash, filled the trailer with stuff i gave to the Salvation army's style store in my town...

Here is the trailer half filled :

Except for the office desk, i used all the old cheapy cabinets and screwed them on the garage walls. Installed more shelfs... and tryed to organise the place a little. Took me a full day plus 3 evenings after work just to make the place bearable !

Here is the place mi-way into reorganisation ...

<img src="http://pages.infinit.net/fggl/renobureau6.jpg">

And finally here is what it currently looks. Not a nice place, but a more organized one !

<img src="http://pages.infinit.net/fggl/newscoop6.jpg">

I managed a little table in the back with some of my cleaning instruments. I'm still looking for some stuff, but i think i'll be stelled in a few day :(

Here is the wall dedicated to Metal detecting with the detectors, the scoops, shovels, Luke's invention the wader dryer (works wonder!) and some of the stuff...

<img src="http://pages.infinit.net/fggl/newscoop5.jpg">

That reorganisation had a good point, i found out i had 8 mesuring tapes, 4 cordless drills and all kind of tools i forgot about since they were left in a corner, in an other boxe or in my office. Now that everything is organized, i dont I'll buy a new tool for a long time :)

And my other subject... my new scoop! I pushed the carbon fiber tachnology to the limit and scrapped a brand new rake in order to use the handle. I searched for a good and long enauph handle for weeks and couldn't come with what i was looking for, so since i didn't paid for the bucket... why not invest a little.

I first cut the handle and was happy to see that there was a wood peg inside for about 8 inches. That ment i didn't had to custom make one. I filled the handle with inflatable insolation foam and resinserted the wood peg.

<img src="http://pages.infinit.net/fggl/newscoop1.jpg">

After that, i needed to make a hole in the cover. I sed a drill, then the jumping saw with metal blade and finished the job witht the dremel.

<img src="http://pages.infinit.net/fggl/newscoop2.jpg">

Then i made myself a clip from a straight piece and used a tubed nut for the top part...

<img src="http://pages.infinit.net/fggl/newscoop3.jpg">

It was just a mather of cutting the protubing bolts in the back and Voil

I think you should put a screw through the aluminum strap into the handle and one right under the U-Bolt to prevent the handle from slipping out and to stabilize it better. I think that digging into sand and pulling up on the scoop will require more than what you have holding the handle in place currently.

I'll see how it handles first. My other scoop never came loose, but then handle is wood. I'll see if it tends to get loose before planting a screw in. A lag bolt might By the way the strap is made of steel and was one taugh piece to form correctly. I used the shaft of my steel digger and an andvil to shape it. It was the most time consuming step. Once bolted in place, i could ear small cracky-crispy sounds coming from the handle, telling me how snuggle it was fitted!

If the wooden peg inflates with water, it will be an even thight fit. But if it gets loose, defenatly a bolt will be placed where you suggested

It's really easy just to pack stuff away until you have to reorganize everything and make it neat. The you really find out what stuff really have to stay and what has to go.
