beginning to hate my deus

As a lot of you know a few weeks back I posted about my deus falsing on everything it touches and acting erratic. After talking to another deus owner having a similar issue and talking to Andy on the phone it seems as if I had a bad coil. 11inch coil. So a week or so ago I called moe at detector electronics "nice guy" and he agreed seems like I had a issue with the coil. He than said he would ship me a new one. Well I got it yesterday and only on GM power will it work ok with 50% bad chatter and also falsing. I thought well maybe I need to reinstall Version 3.2 again for the third time.
Today I decided to take it out again and now its locking up on the number 25 in deus fast with chatter so bad it sounds like a alien ship is sending electronic waves into my headphones. I than get frustrated as this is the new coil they just sent me. I took the coil cover off and noticed a blue sticker that has numbers and codes written on it that looks like a failed or repaired sticker. Now im really frustrated. I call detector electronics back and talk to Michael "also a nice guy' And tell him whats going on. I explain that its doing the same thing as the original coil but acting worse and deus fast is stuck on 25. I also explain about the blue sticker I see and he said its possible a failed coil that the manufacture sent and them not knowing sent to me.

Well now UPS has a call tag to pick up my original coil and the replacememnt they sent me while I have to wait for a third coil.
Im extremely frustrated as the last couple of days I could have been detecting my spots due to weather being decent. Now ill be waiting till Monday or Tuesday for my third coil. My friends who hunt with other detector makes are laughing at me saying, see I told you that foreign stuff is junk. Now you cant even detect. They do it in good fun. I have a garrett at-pro thank god and for the last 2 years not one issue. NADA, ZERO, ZILCH the garrett holds up great.

I do like the Deus don't get me wrong and I know every electronic piece that are made in large quantities will have a few lemons. But to get a replacement sent and time wasted only to have a failed coil is extremely frustrating. Im sorry to rant and rave but just figured id share my issue with you fine folks at findsmall. Anyone else having a issue?
 
I feel for you--I can't say I wouldn't feel the same way in your shoes. I hope the coil with the sticker IS a bad coil because if it's not, you might have a remote problem and not know it....I certainly hope not though. If it's not too late, I'd get on the phone with them again and ask them to send the 2nd replacement coil via overnight mail....that's the least they can do for you in my opinion. Don't get DISCOURAGED!!! All in good time you will be back on track. As far as your hunting buddies
laughing and making jokes on this Foreign machine, you will HAVE the last laugh as you know the "Ol saying"
He who laughs first, laughs last! You will pull stuff out that your buddies will miss, GUARANTEED....
You may dig a hair more but your finds will outshine your buddies once you get a GRIP on this machine.
In my words"The Deus is AWESOME and I have finds to prove it as I have pulled some nice goods
from the HEAVY IRON!!! This machine like CZ said is all about AUDIO. JMHO. Like he said sometimes
you'll get audio but no readings. DIG those without a doubt. Good Luck and really give it some time and
HANG IN THERE with your DEUS. Those techs will get you right but it stinks to have to go thru this Ordeal
but this machine is worth the wait. To me anyway!!!!

I would be just like you and I am not sure I would have second thoughts as to even if they straighten this issue out if I would ever buy again perhaps! I guess a majority of folks are lucky with their Deus working. I have yet, knock on wood, to experience an issue. Heck, this thing detects the most minute piece of metal that is hardly seen to the eye!!!!! I would demand almost overnight treatment to get me hopefully back in the game. And like the other poster stated...............could be the readout remote????

Thank you all above who commented on my post. UPDATE: I called back and asked if they would overnight it. Michael said he would do it. I should have it by tomorrow sometime. The only bugger is UPS here delivers late. I can take the at-pro out meanwhile but gosh im craving the use of the Deus. Ill keep you all informed as to what the new coil does and how it performs :)
 
Track it and when it shows up in your town call UPS and then go get it before it gets sent out for delivery :)
 
I feel your pain and your frustration.

I am sure this is very rare for XP Deus to have these kind of problems. Probably should have replaced the complete unit.

I for one would be all over the dealer who I got it from, and expect him to make me happy....

But that is me.

I hear ya sleppyjim, however I don't think the dealer can do much. Its a faulty coil so therefore I think only warranty repair will take care of this situation :)

Where are you? I would love to spend a day or two detecting with you to make sure it works properly.

Berntout- please explain why you would say or think that?
Again it only would do this falsing when coil was bumped or touched. I could hold the coil in air wiggle shaft and it would go off randomly. So im curious what would make you think its the remote r headphones???

Im open to any suggestions :) Thanks :)
 
Tick tock...I imagine your coil is just minutes away Hunter! Look forward to hearing that you're up and operational again!

Yes true but the dealer could maybe make things right, ensure your happy and set to go (verify all is working proper), then he can deal with manufacturer.......

It came around 2. Im excited. This time it looks as if is definetly new. It is in a black Xp Deus box with extra shaft and hardware :)

True, The dealer lives in TN and im in VA. Lets just hope the new coil does the trick :)
