hopefully the pictures work on this, I'm fairly sure this is a belt buckle, i was just wondering if anyone knew of the period it may be from, it was found in an old town in central michigan that was founded in 1893. thanks for any help. Mike

I agree with Steve. Although I can't view the front (Mike's pic doesn't open for me), the attachment device is for a rosette (horse tack). Good hunting, David @ Dixie
