best choice of headphones?

I recently purchased a set of ultimate GG headphones. I have always used the $30 garrett deluxe headphones until now. I like the UGG's ,but I've noticed a few differences.
The UGG seal a lot more sounds out than the GDH's. I like the notches for the volume knob on the UGG, but it there aren't enough notches to get the right volume for my hearing. I've just been changing the volume on my xterra 705 instead. This becomes a little annoying when I have areas with changing outside noises, or when I just want to be able to crank the vol. up for a bit and then go back down.
I also think the GDH's had a lot more crisp sound, and the sounds of the UGG's seem a little faint in comparison.
I'm thinking of trying either a pair of Killer bee wasps, or a pair of Sun ray pro gold's for the reason of the volume notch separation. It looks like the SunRPG's have 32 notches of separation, and the KillerBW's have 41 diff. notches. The UGG's have 10.
I guess my question is whether or not the Wasps or Sun RP's have a more distinct sound quality than the UGG's. The UGG's sounds just seem a little mellow or something.

I will still keep the UGG's, because I love the fit and the noise reduction, but I'm just looking for more volume control and possibly a brighter, sharper sound in the muffs.

Please chime in if you have experience with any, or all the phones mentioned. Thanks!

I'm still learning and asked a similar question a few weeks ago. Do a search or check for posts a page back or so.There is some pretty detailed info on you specific question.

I've tried the Gray Ghosts and Jolly Rogers and did not like the tone separation so I keep using my Garrett Delux phones. I just saw a set of Koss UR30's for $25.00 in the classifieds and would like to try them since they are recommended by Minelab.
