Best coin cleaner

I want to buy a coin tumbler or if you know of a better way... Right now all I do is clean off the dirt and I'm done. I took a bucket full of coins to the bank, but they wouldn't run them through the machine to count them. I wasn't happy, but I didn't say anything. It's money right? Don't they have to take it?

No they do not have to take coins that are not fit to be circulated. If they were then I could cash in my hundreds of zinc pennies that are corroded. I use a rotary tumbler with two containers. I put some aquarium gravel in the tumbler, add the coins, leave room for the mixture to tumble, water to barely cover and then a squirt of liquid dish washing soap. Tumble until clean. After I finish cleaning the coins about 98 percent of them will go thru the coin counting machine at my Credit Union. Harbor Freight sells a tumbler that will work. Not the greatest quality on the market but serviceable.
