Best F70 coil

tater

New member
I bought my F70 at the start of the year. I am learning it well but think i may need a different coil. I mostly hunt fields where old houses once stood. There are many nails. What would be the best coil for this type of hunting. Smaller? DD? I normally use a minelab but really like the F70 is so light.

the stock coil should do you well set your discrimate at 15 / de mode / sensitivy 60/ threshold -3
i use a 3 x 6 epticial concentric really reads through the trash
the more you use the f70 the better you will get with it
your gonna love it :detecting:

i had both coils on my f70 the 10 inch coil is a good coil does better on bottlecaps than the DD coils and i think it ids deeper targets a little better. the 11 inch DD coil punches a little deeper and has better target seperation and more ground coverage i think if hunting trashy areas your money would be better spent on the 5 inch DD coil or the 6.5 inch coil, good luck and hh

Ok I have figured out what I am getting. This weekend I went to an old general store that was there in the 1800s. It opened for business in 1857. There was iron all over the place. A friend let me borrow a 6.5 inch coil. I kicked some serious booty with it. With the stock 10 inch it was having trouble separating signals. After switching and slowing down I was able to pull several nice coins. 3 indianheads (1862,1864,1897), 1868 2 cent, 1868 shield nickel, 1903 v nickel, and a very slick silver reale. I also found several buttons that are awesome. My mind is made up

Thank you for reporting back! Great finds too! :clapping: I gotta get me one of those little coils! (how long have I been saying this?)

Well I can tell you I love my minelab but I am also loving my F70. I wanted one before I bought my Minelab but settled on the Explorer XS. Now that I have the F70 I have more weapons in my arsenal. With this small coil it is deadly in very heavy iron

I liked the 10" concentric a lot on the the F70 I had. For me better than the 11"dd. I have a 10"dd coil on my Omega which is even better than the 10" concentric coil.
