Best hunt so far

This is my 8th hunt with the Safari. The first 6 hunts, dug everything and boy what a bunch of trash I had in my pouch. First 6 hunts had 9 coins total, mostly pennies. I have only used it on 2 beaches so far. Do mostly beach hunting on 6 to 8 beaches.
I started digging only higher tones on hunt 7 and dug 10 coins and a lot less trash. On hunt 8: I dug whistle, flute, high, very high, low tones mixed with high tone, with high meter readings. I do not watch the meter. I listen to the sounds. It is one of the best detectors I have used. It has too much to learn to try to learn every thing quickly so I keep it as simple as I can, to get more familiar with it. It can get overwhelming I don't need the frustration. It is suppose to be fun. I laugh a lot when I dig trash or how about those holes that have nothing? I just cover them back up and say I will be back when I understand this detector better and get that treasure down there. The Safari was made to be simple and I guess I am as simple as they come so we get along pretty good.
Here are the results of hunt 8: I dug 4 caps, 2 pull tabs, one large rusted screw. I dug 49 coins: 1 1940 nickel 1 toe ring 1 Timex watch.
I am not trying to learn every thing in a short time just relax and have fun with the Safari....... Z

Was the timex still ticking because it looks like it took a licking !! Remember the old timex commercials ? It's good to hear you are enjoying the safari, I enjoy mine as well. The more we use them, the better we get , the more keepers we find. Good going !! Keep up the hunting !!

Thanks ronaldj2
No the Timex wasn't a ticking. I can't even pull the stem out so it is heading into the big box with look at one more time and get rid of it. That is a winter project, with the subject heading of things to do now that summer is over. Ya I remember those commercials with the watch on the outboard motor in the tank.
I am having fun with this detector and for the first time since being back to md'ing I think I have the detector that will be with me for a very long time, like the Compass x 100 I had for years..... Z

Thanks ngrelic
Went out yesterday and picked up 17 more coins and a 925 ring with a blue stone.
The beaches are dead. Nothing since last summer. So I am digging up the stuff we didn't get last summer. I guess stuff waves washed up on shore from the winter also.
This Safari is a keeper and I don't understand all the trouble some are having with this detector? I am still using factory settings. This is the first detector I have ever run all metal mode with and enjoy. Not so with other detectors I have had. It works fine for my limited knowledge. I think of all the things I will be able to do when I get to know this detector.... Z

My Safari is like a fine piece of furniture the more you use it, the more comfortable it gets.
