Best rain/dust cover out there?

What is the best out there for the price? If you know of a company that sells a really good quality rain/dust cover please post a link to the website so I can check them out.

Hi Preston,the best covers on the market at the moment are from a British company called thesaurus.They are top notch quality but i do not know what the availability is like over in the u.s.You'll have to do some digging to see if any company over there imports them.

Does that cover (with the link) have the battery access?

Let me just say that that UK company that makes the good cover certainly does NOT make it easy to locate and purchase their product.

If you look at the pic it has a zipper on that side to easily unzip and change the batteries.

Thanks-let me know if you get one. I'd like to know more about that product. Saw one for a similar price looking thru the UK covers- it has a battery caddie on the back,
 
I believe that the Enviro Cover is the one that I have. It works well but has a few issues. You have to unscrew the coil wire and remove it to change the batteries, and second, you have to keep an eye on dirt getting up under the cover. If dirt gets under the cover, it will rub off the symbols on your control panel buttons. I see this happening to my brothers so I clean mine often. Another issue is that using headphones like I do, the rubber door tends to form itself in an open position, when you try and remove the cover you have a heck of a time getting the cover over the rubber door.
 
Someone used the stock X-Terra cover and turned it inside-out and cut off the excess material at the seams making it fit looser being not so tight.

I did that to mine. In my opinion, I'd be ashamed of myself allowing these covers to go to market fitting the way they do. I am in the process of making my own. I'll post pics when I get it done

Looking forward to it. :geek: Expecially since $42 seems like a lot of money for a cover, even if it fits right.
 
$42.00 will buy quite a few boxes of heavy duty "Zip-Lock" sandwich baggies. They make great throw-away covers and fit around both headset and coil wires. JMHO. :)

I like the idea of the heavy duty zip lock bags. save money yo buy other md things. I use them at the beach , lg ones then tape every thing shut tight. not for water proofing but more for the salt air.
 
Even after I trimmed the extra material it fits way too tight!! Don't they test what they make? waste of $42
I complained to MineLab too,,no response.

I got a new Thesaurus cover on Ebay for $25. It fits good and have changed the batteries with little problem. I have never owned another cover but have had no problems with this one. The only thing to mention is cover at the pin-point button is scratched up, but that has got to be expected.
 
On my third attempt. the others well not so happy with my quality. Keep you updated on my efforts.
