Best underwater detecter Please

n/t

Would like to hear from those that are using underwater detectors on their experience. Manufactures seems to believe their product is the best and bend over to let you know. I would be interested in real experiences.

We plan to travel the islands and move down to s america by the end of the year and have only an old whites that works but interested in buying a newer one.

Thanks

hi norma, chris here. the minelab excalibur is the best saltwater detector on the market right now. for fresh water, the fisher 1280-x is a great one for that.

Hello Norma.....my name is Chuck, and I am both a PADI SCUBA DiveMaster and a detector dealer. I have about, 60 under water hunting dives, and countless hours from surf hunting to waist deep water (both fresh and salt). These are my experiences.....underwater, down to 90 feet or so, it's very hard to beat the Tesoro Tiger Shark (easy to handle-excellent balance-very sensitive yet stable to the mineral salts), waist deep salt or fresh water, the Minelab Excalibur just kicks butt! Beach to ankle deep salt or fresh water, my preference is the Tesoro Sand Shark! As you can see, while they are all good water hunting machines....they also have a given area where one excels over the other. I hope I haven't made your decision harder, but it seems to me that armed with pertinent information, one is better able to make a choice that best suits their needs. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me either here or at www.treasurehut.org.
