BETTER COIL FOR THE GAMMA.

Is there a better performing/quieter coil for the Gamma than the 8" concentric that came with it?
I bought it for my wife because of it's lightweightedness and I think I made a pretty good choice except I think it may be a little too chatty for her. I can turn the Sens. way down but sacrifice depth. Would a different coil help quiet it down without loss of depth?

I would try the 5 inch coil, The 8 inch is the all around in my opinion.

Hey buddy,

You may want to check out the NEL Sharpshooter. I know you beach hunt and the DD would work perfectly for her. Wider scan and a maintained depth equal or greater than the 8". The coil is well made and light with a thicker coil wire that's supposed to make it more stable and less suseptable to EMI. I use one on my F2.

SharpShooter coil here as well,possibly one of the best coils that i have ever used.

don't know of any used (~$85 shipped) but they are $115 shipped new.

Having both the Omega and the gamma,I keep the 5inch round dd coil on the gamma and it has performed fantastic on that detector.She will like its small size and the depth it gets is very surprising and I have no trouble running high sensitivity with the 5 inch dd coil.....Markmac
