BH Land Ranger-need Advice

Got my land ranger 5 or six yeqrs ago. Has it been upgraded or changed since then? Why do I still get pull taps when using program 3.When I'm at the park I get tons of hits always showing number reading jumping all over the place.Would like opinion on this model and best settings to use.I've got to the point I don't dig anymore because of so many hits.I'll dig a repeating hit 4 to 6 inches check the hole and no hitin the hole or around the dirt dug.waste of time

I don't have that model, however I have noticed that both aluminum and rusted steel can be identified as copper/silver by my Elite 2200. I don't understand the mechanism, but have seen the phenomena. If your unit is treating an aluminum pull tab as something other than a pull tab, that is just one of the quirks of these machines.

Hey Jeff63 give it time for people to visit the board and see your other topic, there is no reason to come to another topic and discuss something that has nothing to do with the topic. Please if you are going to post keep to the topic not what you are being impatient about. Sorry to sound rude but it is what you are doing by posting what you posted in here about. have fun looking for a club.

If your getting a ton of FALSE signals, the first thing to do is turn your SENS down...I do nto own a Land Ranger, but this is the case with ALL detectors...Even though the manual says to run the sens at a certain level, this is for ideal ground conditions (which you may not have in your area)...turn the sens down a little at a time until the machine becomes stable...dig only repeatable signals...keep your coil level with the ground at all times (do NOT "UFO" (lift the coil at the ends of your swing)). keep your swings regular...You should be able to count 2 mississippi from one end to the other of your swing. Pull tabs are a bear on any machine...they can chime in anywhere from nickle to zinc at times, depending on the type of tab and it's depth. Keep hunting, and do not get frustrated...I know it sux to dig nothing but pull tbs and can slaw, but I think most of us have been there as starters...As you learn your machine, the finds get better...if your interested mainly in relics, you need to get off the beaten path. get into the woods, near creeks, and places where old settlements may have been...These places should hopefully be free from all the trash you find in the parks and school yards. Hunt in all metals mode with NO DISC at all...Dig EVERYTHING...

Happy Hunting,
