big coil on F75 LTD more chatty?

grumpy

New member
Got a ? ; I noticed lately that the big stock coil seems to be much more chatty; noisy or what have you than the little round or little eliptical concentric coils i have. Is this just normal or maybe something wrong with the coil. Seems pretty noticably noisier; The elec. interferance could be magnified more with the bigger coil is a possibility i think?
thanks for the help.

The bigger the coil the bigger the antenna , just the way it is.

I don't get a lot of EMI with 7x 11 DD coil but ,put on a small coil and i can max Sens in same spot.

I JUST BOUGHT A 15" D.D. COIL FOR THE F-75 AND WAS ASKING FOR FEED BACK ,BUT NO ONE WILL ANSWER.THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A D.D. COIL WITH LESS MINERALIZATION,JUST IN CASE I HAVE AN EMI ADAPTER THAT SNAPS ON THE COIL LINE GOING TO THE CONTROL BOX.HOPE THIS WILL HELP WHEN THE COIL GETS HERE:shrug:--------------------------------------JAMES

You can get a adapter to help with the ele interference on the coil??

Also I noticed the placement of the coil on the way to the box is causing a lot of chatter is this just me or common; I had it loose and noticed it was talking then pulled itup and tight from the coil for a bout 8 or 10 inches and made a big difference. I never read on the placement of cable on a fisher on the other machines i have had it was noted to do a special position of the cable ???? Mabe I missed that when i went to the boys room??
Any help appreciated.

Spots for me where emi comes into play is worse with the 11" verses the 5" and 6 1/2. I've never known how the coil wire is wrapped/places to be a factor for limiting emi??? HH jim tn

NEWS FLASH Seems after long debate with my f 75 ltd i stumbled face first into the dirt to discover what was the problem; seeemed every thing i was told was a possible problem had been around the last couple of years with the machine and just recently started doing the growl and carry on;
Well by accident today i picked up the detector and turned the head upside down and GRRRRR it went off; insted of the coil wrap doing it which it effected it because it was the other end of the cable; when i straightened the cable it helped wiggle the brain to cable connection; WAA LAA the problem;
I took my fingers with the machine on and touch the little connector at the front of the machine and GRRRRRRR; thats the problme got a short , lose connection or ? in the brain at the connector;
SO willg et that fixed and then can get back to using the great little machine i was used to.

Thanks for all the help; If your s growls to much one day might check there and make sure the coil cable or connector are not the problme instead of all the common problems.
