Big Digger and Dave IL UNLEASHED

Big Digger

New member
It was such a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and I received a call from Big Digger about a new location where once there was a General Store. Before leaving, I thought I would stop by Master Yoda-Detector Bryce's place and see if he wanted to go along. Unfortunately, he was cruising the central Illinois galaxy on his Harley. Big Digger and I thought we would attempt this hunt on our own since we thought we had had some sufficient training. Shortly after arriving on location, Big Digger struck first and was awarded with a 1907 Injun.

It was getting late in the evening and the supper bells were ringing at Big Diggers' home. I don't know how I heard that high pitched warble over my growling stomach, but the indicator was reading deep so I decided to dig my last target for the evening.

After digging a deep hole I popped out a clod and a small disc was inside. With the sunlight fading I held the disc up to the light and saw it was silver, then called Big Digger over for an extra set of eyes. Using the cell phone for light, we identified the coin to be my first 1853 seated dime.

We hope that master Yoda-Detector Bryce would be proud....

Nice find !!

I would love to find a seated "anything" up here. Would be a rare find for sure, our little town was'nt incorporated until 1905 ..

Glad you guys got a hunt in and had some fun. Master Yoda's butt is sore from puttin' almost 300 miles on the sled...but I had some excellent food....so all is well:clapping:

Nice finds - I'm also still waiting for my first seated. Congrats.

Congrats on the seated, awesome find!

Tip of the hat for a nice coin...in my neck of the woods seated is rare but do grab a dime now and then but sitll looking for my first seated quarter....

Nice to know our moderator has several hobbies as it helps when we run into dry spells detector wise...

Sore butt or sore legs is what keeps us going...

Congrats on your first seated Dave.:clapping: I remember my first one also and I had to drive over 200 miles to find it. Congrats to Big Digger on his injun. Maybe it's a good thing that Bryce didn't go along as he may have stollen that seated from you. HH when you fellows get out again.

Eddie
