Bill Ladd, Did you ever get out with the C$ and the 5.5 coil? And if you did,

& the ground just froze up here. Certain deep woods sites may be "diggable" under leaves or pine needles, but no I have not been able to do that "test" yet.....
I have plenty of iron loaded cellar holes nearby that would be perfect for it, & the small coil is still attached to my C$ so I'm ready. Just a couiple warm days is all I need, & I'm pretty confident it will work well like the T2 has. I think it will be just a question of what disc number to use. 50 or so maybe? That will take some experiementation, as NASA Tom did alot of trials to come up with 20/21 being best with the T2 disc.....

I forgot to mention that the T2's 1-tone "iron setting" is more based on listening very closely to the audio within all the "noise" more than the number readings (which are affected with averaging/etc). With practice "good" targets just stick out amid the static. They may not repeat but they just sound diggable....
With the C$, I'm just at this point not sure about the audio part of that yet. Will good targets "stick out" soundwise? Or will you be able to watch the screen with a small coil on, as the C$ will be "seeing" much less. In other words, there will be far less targets under the coil at once...
I have had good success with the C$/Edge/Excel in iron with the stock coil by watching the screen for positive signs....So, I imagine the addition of smaller coils to the mix will only help.

Bill
