Got permission to hunt an old house, went there and the neighbors were quite rude, anyways, To put it bluntly, I mangled my best find ever...Ugg, I've only scratched one silver in the past.

It's an 1896 S with full bold liberty....Turned a great thing into a good thing... other finds included a EF1901 dime and some hotwhees and clad.

Just too bad that of all the Coins that you had to dig and hit, that this Beauty had to be one of them. If that would have been me, I think I would have did a little something like this!:puke: I also Murdered a Nice Coin a few years back. A 1906-O Barber Dime in EF. Made me sick when I found out it was a Good One worth a few bucks! I also Murdered a Merc this weekend, but Thank God it was a Common Date. It was in Gravely Dirt. One thing here though with your great find. You can say you found a Coin with a Mintage of only 188,063. Still a Nice Find Diggingfix and at least the Scratch is on the Reverse instead of the Obverse. Better Luck on your Pinpointing and HH to you.

I think we all have scratched a target and felt the same way you do. I bought a Sun Ray X1 target probe and it has done a great job of pinpointing targets. I don't remember scratching a coin since. H H
