I would like to see about using a bluetooth transmitter and headphones with my f70. I've seen a few different combinations on amazon, none that stand out (or are cheap...) Does anyone else have any recommendations on a setup, and if anyone has any experience with this, is there much of a delay on the transmission from detector to headphones?
thx!

I have tried that on my F-70, want work it works on my CZ-70 and my omega, the one I used was the radio shack one. HH

This guy claims to be on to something. I have a bluetooth headset, so I just ordered the dongle he references. I had tried remote headphones, but, they didn't work well. They would attenuate to very low volume immediately after turning it on. The prices I saw, seems like would run something just north of $50.

I've seen that and a couple others on amazon and after reading the reviews it makes me wonder.... It sounds like they may have a bit of a delay in the transmission, which would render it a bit ineffective for pinpointing signals very well, it seems to me. I could be wrong, I hope. Let me know how it works!

He said there was no discernable lag, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered the dongle. I'll let you know.

Ok I got this same setup yesterday and have somewhat been testing it out. Only air testing though as its actually raining in west texas for a change. But there is very much a discernable lag from target to ears. I dont hear a beep unitl the center point of the coil is about 3+ inches to either side of the target. Penny or quarter, its the same. That being said, it may still be usable as long as it will pickup the target. I may just have to "recalibrate" my centerpoint somewhat. Even then, once I start slowing it down and pinpointing, it's pretty much on target. For $50, this may work pretty well, but I will try to do some real testing tomorrow after it stops raining....

Hey Tex, rain here in east Tx too. Haven't been out in it. Got the dongle couple days ago, decided to hook it up and test indoors. Findings about the same as yours. Signal comes in 2 or 3 inches past the target. I'm really bummed, wonder how this other guy got his workin' with no lag. I have a different headset, but, I have to think the lag is coming from the dongle. Did you get the same headset he's using? My other setup works perfectly lagwise, it's just that the sound is so faint. You'd think, in this day and age..............arrrggg. I should've read further down that thread, there are people that got the same setup that are experiencing the same lag we are. Even further down, is someone with the exact same Auvio setup I purchased some time ago, who's having no problems with it. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all ;)

Yes rain! I won't complain one bit about it, we'll take what we can get. And with all that we got, the ground was still dry/easy enough to dig around in yesterday. I found a bus token and some other object I posted earlier, and misc change. I did use this setup and the lag is a bit irritating but it will come in handy at parks and such. I HATE headphones, or at least the cord, but when reporters and such hear the beeping they have to come running and all but stand in the hole I'm trying to dig. (yes, 2 reporters in one week wanted to do a story.... been a bad week for crime stories I guess.) Anyway, it's not just the lag, but it's so slow it can't keep up with the machine. Say you put 3 pennys down a few inches apart, normally youd get the 3 burst machine gun effect. Now im lucky to get 2 beeps, eventually. I can't say it wasn't usefull. In fact, in some spots where I wanted to be very slow and thorough, it did fine. I did have to take the jack out a few times to get a better pinpoint, but not often.
I did get the same exact setup as was posted. I too wonder what is causing the lag... the dongle or the headphones. Or both...
There has to be a better way, more research to come...
