Bogus Mexican gold

Just finishing putting my latest display together. It's the 3 fake gold items I have dug over the years. The old heart sure took a jump for each of them, especially when I saw the 14 K stamped on them.

But a long time jeweler here, Carlos Diaz, said they are fake gold out of Mexico. They were tested to be sure. Here's a close up of the top bracelet.

And here's the very official looking stamp.

I cleaned 1/2 of each item and then sprayed it with a clear fix so both finishes can be seen. Fun to dig them but a real disappointment - especially with the gold market now. Steve in so az
