Born Again Believers cannot lose their salvation.

Does Hebrews 6:4-6 teach that a true believer can lose his salvation?

No. In that passage, the writer of Hebrews is speaking to the unsaved who have heard the truth and acknowledged it, but who have hesitated to embrace Christ. The Holy Spirit warns them,

I know some won't agree that's ok. But as for me and my studies I find the sin of flesh
cannot condemn the spirit again. I'm not trying to convince anyone of this . But My Lord is stronger then
the sins of the flesh . No I'm say it's OK to give into the sin of the flesh that would be sad on every level.
nu ma which means Spirit that feeds on the word of God
Sueky which means soul which feeds on knowledge
Soma which means body which feeds on food.
This is found in 2 Thessalonians 1:23
I believe I have the spelling right if found wrong please correct me.
I ask isn't God though Jesus stronger that the flesh ?
Thanks Just airing some thoughts. Graw

I will agree to disagree and leave it with that. God's Word clearly tells us we 'can' loose our faith and salvation. I understand many believe in 'Once Saved Always Saved' but it's not biblical. We have a choice: we can believe in and follow God Commandments or we can believe in and follow man's traditions. One will save you but the other won't!

John chapter 10

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

Can you please explain this chapter to the readers here in this forum what Jesus is saying to Pharisees?

What's the context of this verse? John 10:25-30

25 Jesus answered,

There is a scripture that Chistians can backslide and return to sinning again like dogs return to their vomit! Jesus will go after His lost child (Sheep) but if we are rebellious and refuse to return to Him, then He will let us go and suffer the consequences of our sinning but will still try to get us back...the same as satan tries to get us to turn back to serving him, but there will come a time with the hardening of the heart until that one will not return and God says He will not always strive with man...so it is best we love, honor and obey Jesus, and worship God in Spirit and in Truth! I know the love in my heart for Jesus is so full of my Savior that I choose not to leave Him, for He has shown me many things even supernaturally!

Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for redeeming my soul and for keeping me safe and willing not to turn back to sinning, willfully, and if I do slip and sin someway, then You are willing to forgive me again by my asking quickly Your forgiveness and to help me not to sin again and You will certainly do that, for Your love for God's Children is an all-forgiving love but we must repent and repentance means turning completely around and traveling on God's straight and narrow road and not satan's broad way with a wide gate leading into a firey lake! Amen! Ma Betty

Love to see some scriptures on that one can lose their salvation, thank you

Wow !! Talk about a divisive subject !! This is one subject that has raised the hackles of many Christians. And it has caused unnecessary division among the brethren. Probably more division than deciding on whether to have blue or maroon carpet in the auditorium of the church. :) I sure don't want this subject to cause ugly division among the believers on this forum. Nothing would make old stinky breath Satan happier in here than that. I believe we should concentrate on edification of the Body of Christ. I've been in way overindulged conversations on this subject that came to naught. Except for one or both parties walking away with a big HUMPH !!! Maybe it is a subject that shouldn't be aired so the world can see division and start finger pointing. Hope I'm not out of line here. I really think were talking about backsliding and apostasy here. Cosmetically, both are very similar. Honestly, I believe there could be such a thing as a person that could be a pastor, a deacon, a bishop or whatever in the religious realm, and end up in Hell. That would be because they never trusted Jesus as Savior. They probably jumped through all the hoops, tithed for decades and outwardly did all the right things in the eyes of people but never had that personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus will say, " I never knew you ". Yet in the same congregation could be a not so nice of a guy. Never jumped through the hoops, no tithing, etc.. Yet this not so nice of a guy or gal could love Jesus but is a weak family member. Philippians 1:6 ( NIV ) translation ( and I believe all the main translations will agree so I don't wanna start a translation war here )" being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus". Now, I'm believing that Paul was inspired by Yahweh God to write this down. Key phrase in the verse is, " he ( God, Jesus, Holy Spirit ) who began a good work in you ". God is the He in this phrase. God started the work. And Paul said He would carry it through to completion. At what point do I say that a person has lost that good work that He started? Am I that powerful that I can directly contradict what the inspired word of God says? It's obvious that we are dealing with Armenianism and Calvinism here. I know I'm longwinded here, SeniorSeeker, and I'm going to jump in the same boat with you, my brother. I'm just gonna leave it with that. ><>

I don't see this as a war,This doctrine is not to be taken lighty nor cause Believers to doubt their salvation.I hear lots of opinions on what you might believe to be right but haven't heard one verse to back it up.This is considered a huge part of the cross andwhy believer have their debt paid in full.Is this a Christian forum or are we just going to pretend once you become born again now we must work for our salvation.

Majority of Armenians believe in security on salvation so this is not an issue on calvinism

I'm with you Boneykid, well said. All believers know that there are many controversial subjects and this is one of them. Eschatology is another. Why such divisive matters are raised one after another here is hard to understand. As it happens, I agree with the proposition, but I also know that many serious believers have another view and they hold it with absolute integrity.

There is nothing to be gained by trying to "prove" that they are wrong because, with honest hearts before God, they believe their view to be scriptural and true. They just see things differently, and in doing so, have countless other sincere believers agreeing with them. I have no fight with them, even if I have a differing view.

I'm glad to see that those who disagree with this particular controversial matter have made their position known and then wisely "agreed to disagree." I'm with them on that.

I rather like St Paul's admonition in Ephesians 4. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. These are wise words.

What a tremendous and tragic burden! Having been justified and set free by faith, are you now held bondage to maintain your salvation by works? That

This will be my last post on this as I'm not trying to cause division

If your hope of eternal life is tied to the consistency of your earthly obedience, what hope is that? When you compare your obedience to the divine standard, when you compare yourself with the holiness of God, how do you measure up? A thousand lifetimes wouldn

I can really see how this could end up in a big squabble! And a squabble that is unnecessary. No need for either side to try and set the other side straight. This isn't a subject that upsets me, but I know it can be a very touchy one with some folks. I would just say that if you believe one cannot lose their salvation, then tread lightly so as not to grieve the Holy Spirit or live your life as a slap in the face to what Jesus has paid for. If you believe one CAN lose their salvation, then live your life in close fellowship with the Lord and you won't have to worry about losing it. That way, which ever way you believe, you are covered and should have nothing to worry about. :)

You wrote: then tread lightly so as not to grieve the Holy Spirit or live your life as a slap in the face to what Jesus has paid for.

Ephesians 4:30 tells us that we should not grieve the Spirit. We grieve the Spirit by living like the pagans (4:17-19), by lying (4:25), by being angry (4:26-27), by stealing (4:2:geek:, by cursing (4:29), by being bitter (4:31), by being unforgiving (4:32), and by being sexually immoral (5:3-5). To grieve the Spirit is to act out in a sinful manner, whether it is in thought only or in both thought and deed.

Which one of these do you accuse me of?

I have quoted scriptures and speaking on accordence to sound doctrine,Where do you see me angry or grieving the Spirit?

This isn't about setting people straight nor about whose right or wrong, its about Jesus death been down played and gained by man's work in order to keep their salvation.

OK, my rapture soul, go ahead and keep the topic rolling if you wish. You will find no argument in me either way. The only thing I have to say is this: Please show or tell me where I accused you of anything at all. If you honestly feel that I accused you or anyone else of anything, then you are terribly wrong. If you seriously feel that I did, then you are reading things into what I said that are not there. If you are lashing out to accuse me of saying or implying things that I did not say, then you are being overly touchy and defensive. Whatever the case may be, I'm not going to argue the facts, or beliefs with you.

You're welcome. lol

as I know what the scriptures say by studying them diligently for 20 years plus, so although I can't quote scripture and verse, and I forget easily at my age with health problems, but I know pretty well what the Bible says and unless we read and understand the Old and the New Testaments, we cannot know the truth and the main thing is to choose Jesus and follow in His light on God's straight and narrow path serving Him in love, honor and worship the best we can through godly wisdom and the guidance of God's Holy Spirit Who leads us into all truth of God's Holy Word! The Word also warns us to be alert at all times, for satan goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour....who will he try to devour...Christians, those who are weak and luke warm...he already has sinners and they serve him, so if we cannot lose our salvation than why are we warned which the Bible is full of warnings of how to live and be aware of who satan is and the pathway to hell is easy to find which many will enter in, but few will find the right way to enter heaven's gate!

If you believe you cannot lose your faith...then don't worry about it....I don't worry about it and I could walk away from following Jesus any time I would want to....But I don't desire to leave Him, for I love Him because He first loved me! The only thing that is worth arguing about is: Whether Jesus saves us by our confessing our sins and believing in Him, for there is no other way to Heaven but by Him!

Read Rev 2....Christ's message to the churches and we, who are Christians and the saints of God are His church! We must trust in and obey Jesus to keep our faith strong and our feet on the right path, which Jesus Lights before us, who are willing to follow HIm, obediently! If anyone thinks they can keep on sinning and doing evil work and still get through the Pearly Gates are wrong! Amen! Ma Betty
