Bought a new pinpointer, twice!

I friend of mine wants to go detecting with me. He's been a few times and was my digger, but he wants to swing a detector. I'm going to let him use my old Whites Coinmaster GT. I want to get him properly outfitted so I grabbed another digger tool, and I ordered a second pinpointer so we wouldn't have to share. I got online on KellyCo and looked at what was available. I saw the Deteknix Xpointer and the price was good, so I ordered it. I got him the Orange one in case he laid it down and forgot it, it would be easier to find. When it arrived I opened it up, popped in a 9v, and tested it. I was really impressed!! Very impressed actually. So I was thinking... "Hmm, maybe I will keep this one for myself and let him use my old one". Well, when I went to get the old one from the closet, to my surprise, it was a black Deteknix Xpointer. Hahahahaha Oh man, that was funny. No wonder I liked it so much.

Silver, about how deep do they pick up a dime in the ground. I have been thinking about getting one. Thanks flintstone

I obviously like the Xpointer. It's very simple. Just 2 buttons. On/Off, and Beep/Vibe/Beep & Vibe. Has a light. It is very sensitive. Beeps faster as it gets closer to target. Starts reacting about 4". Priced right.

Have you ever tried either the Teknetics Tek - Point or Fisher F - Pulse pin pointers? I've got the Tek - Point pin pointer and it goes deep. Best money spent besides that spent on my metal detectors. Check out some of the videos on line comparing pin pointers. Often when I'm metal detecting and locate a target that my detector says is 4" or less from the surface, I'll use my Tek - Point to verify the exact location of the target. I do a lot less digging because I'm able to more precisely pin point where the target lies. This results in smaller plugs dug and less time chasing target(s) around the hole.
