The philosophy of many today is that our bodies belong to us, and we can do with them as we please. Some may justify this approach even further by adding the argument that in so living they harm no one but themselves. We know, though, that this kind of reasoning is so wrong. What are ways in which the intemperance of others has hurt you or someone you know? Or, even more to the point, how might your intemperate actions hurt others?

The Bible talks of the importance of the body as a dwelling place. This abode is not only for our own benefit, thoughts, plans, and actions; our bodies are, in fact, temples of God. What a privilege and responsibility. Sometimes we are more caring of the houses in which we live than our own bodies.

Why should we take care of our bodies? What theme comes from the following texts that answers this important question for us? Why do these texts make sense only if God created us, as opposed to our being the chance results of purposeless cosmic forces? John 2:19-21 (New King James Version) "Jesus answered and said to them,

When we are filled with God's Holy Spirit our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost! How many of us, who truly believe in and know Jesus, as our own personal Savior, would go into any church or temple to bring destruction and eventually destroy it? Most of us would not and, therefore, neither should we do anything against God in any way and cause sin to enter our body, His Temple in Whom He abides Spiritually! Those who bear children or cause abortions to babies have not their own bodies to think about and take care of! The babies are separate human-beings or (entities) inside their mother's wombs used to bring them to maturity untill born and then after they are born they still need to be taken care of until grown and old enough to care of themselves, hopefully, through Jesus' loving care!

Jesus dwells within the true believing Christians and we are to take care of our bodies like we would take care of the little ones in and out of the womb. We are one with Jesus, but each is separate, also! Those who choose to get rid of their babies pre-born or post-born are committing sin by being the murderer of their own children and eventually, unless repenting, the murderer of their own bodies! Thank about it and let us take care of our bodies and the ones we are in charge of....just like God by His Son, Jesus, takes care of His own! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
