Bought my second detector already! F2 for the wife!

After all the good words about the F2, I pulled the trigger on it today! I figured it would be a good way to get the wife out with me, and double our finds! Plus it came with the three coils, and I can't wait to steal that sniper coil for the F5 and hit the trashy areas in the parks!

And the addiction continues!!!

Very cool! If she is like my wife, she will out hunt you shortly. You will become her digging boy and just follow her around!

Good, then nothing will change.

She'll find all the jewelry, but then not tell me about it! She's like a racoon, she likes to collect shiny stuff!

I'm so far behind on pictures, so I'll start here. This was a few weeks back, but I almost was outhunted by my wife on her first time out, the F2 vs. the F5. oops!
(her finds are on the napkin to the left with the Blackhawk pin, mine has that ugly azzzzzz Green Bay packer bottle opener)

Did you ever try out the 4" sniper on your f5?

How did it work out for you?

I was under the impression that the f2 & f4 coils were only interchangeable between each other and not the rest of the Fisher F series.

That could be true, and in way I hope it is, then I have the perfect excuse to buy that 5" DD coil! lol

I have not tried it yet, sorry! I'll have to research the coil thing to make sure.

The sniper 5DD coil is what I hear about on the F5, and I can't wait to get one, just have to figure out how to explain that one to the wife! She has three coils for her F2, I have the 10" eliptical and 11" DD, but that sniper would be awesome in some of these parks, and around the school entrances.

You'll love the 5" dd

I just got one for my f70 and wow what a difference over the 4" sniper I have on my f2. The f2 sniper has it's depth limits but man the 5" dd running hot on my f70 seems like I could detect a quarter in a Chinamen's pocket from here in New York.

Granted who the heck wants to dig stupid deep targets, but it's nice to know I'm not missing anything and it pinpoints on a rail like a true dd coil. Like seriously. Find the target, pin point to the lowest number on the vdi, and move it off a inch left or right and lose the target where as it seemed with the f2 concentric sniper you could narrow it down to a 4" area and dig a 4" plug and it would be in the plug.

Anyway. Surely a valuable tool in your arsenal. The price is tough to swallow considering the f2 snipers are a dime a dozen, but man does it take the concept to another level.

Trailduster, I think you sold me on it! I've come across TWO areas now where the trash is so bad that you would think I was detecting over an old landfill!

Thanks for the info!!!!

Stilpony.

Last week I went detecting a small area around a apartment dumpster where I though maybe I lost my wedding ring a few years ago while working a garbage truck. Trash central. Bottle caps, nails, decades of stuff that didn't make it into the dumpster. F70 was in psycho mode...non-the-less..every solid signal I could pin point by slowing down the swing after acquisition and doing a little shimmy wiggle till I locked onto the solid target. I don't know if the F5 has this feature but the F70 has a "confidence" bar and by solid signal I mean the confidence bar was high and the tone was screaming loud with no weakness and the targets were both under the 5" radius but locking on to the signal I wanted with the shimmy wiggle.

The reason I was looking for solid targets only was my current wedding band is 10k (4.3g) and hit a solid 25 with the 5" dd, and my other band was 14k or 18k and larger (gold was cheaper back in 200:geek: so I figured it should hit a solid but slightly higher number like the smaller ring.

...was cheaper back in 2008 so I figured....

Sorry My last post reads funny and it's now to late to edit it.

Duster, when you said, "...back in 200", I was thinking, "How the hell old IS this guy!?!?!?"

Seriously, though, good advice! I think I'm going to give my wife's F2 a shot with her 4" sniper, and then I'll order that 5" DD for my F5. I'm getting this gold if I have to steal it from Mud! I was going to steal silver from Mud, but... ah, never mind.
