BP mode is finding deep items missed by the old F 75

Hi, All:

I rehunting an old Winter cavalry camp that I've pounded for the past five years. I used an MXT for two years, then rehunted it with an original F 75 for two years. Camp was considered "hunted out" five years ago. I've found over 700 bullets. Over 400 of them have been .36 cal. "teardrops". Now, I'm rehunting the camp with the new F 75 LTD in BP mode in all metal, sens. at 80, listening for deep signals that sound like bullets. I did the same with my old F 75. The finds are scarce, but I am finding items for the most part that are too deep for the original F 75. I check each signal before I dig it to see how it sounds in the DE mode. I can still hear the signals, but they are weak. The BP really makes the difference. I'm averaging about one bullet every hour I hunt. The best signal I got today was the melted lead in the center of the picture. I was disappointed when I dug it, but when I cleaned it with warm water and a toothbrush, I was surpised to find in the center what appears to be a Sharps raised ring bullet. To the right of it is definetly a teardrop. I also found a tent grommet, the back of a cuff button and part of the locking tab for a shoulder scales. I'm only finding small calibre bullets. I'm confident I wouldn't be finding very much at all if it weren't for the BP mode. It really works.

Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'

Hey Jim-----Looks like the LTD is working out for you.----That BP mode DOES make a difference FOR SURE! ---------Del

jimmy you said that the de mode ''saw" these signals too?
if so,and as you said they were weak,in your opinion, would you still have dug them?

thanks!

I woulnd't have dug 90% of the DE signals. Simply too faint. BP mode made the difference.

The cool thing about digging those deep, iffy, signals, is that sometime you are going to snag a "crazy good" thing. Every time I dig something small and worthless I remember things that it could have been. I don't get too upset digging trash because once in a while you get rewarded. Nice to hear the LTD is producing in one of you old spots.

HH, Don

You are so right, jimmy, the bp mode is a difference maker. I am doing the same thing, rehunting spots I scoured hard with the F 75 and getting the occasional silver, 2 in the last two days, and some deep wheats almost every hunt. Nice finds from that "hunted out site." HH jim tn

The nice thing about civil war "trash" is that it still is interesting and part of the history of that period. Always a kick to dig an item that was last touched by a civil war soldier.

BP definitely fixed the depth problem that no one wanted to talk about 2 years ago, but at the expense of stable target ID and a significant increase in iron falsing. I had to let mine go, it just didn't mesh with my hunting, but I can't stop reading your dang posts!

If you have an F75-lite and thoroughly enjoy the machine, save your money, the LTD is worth the extra boost. If you don't really care for your F75, the LTD won't solve enough problems to make it worth your while.

I never considered depth to be a problem with the F 75, but without question, the bp mode does get a bit more depth and certainly enhances the tone of those 8-10" and plus deep targets. HH jim tn

I agree the ID isn't as stable as the old F 75, but I use mine for relic hunting and dig everything that respods over the iron grunt. The numbers aren't that significant for me, in that regards. I prefer a different top of the line machine for coin hunting. Just my preference.
