He tried.

He really did.
I got Brian out of bed and he put on a clean shirt and pants, his socks, braces and shoes. I combed his hair and he watched TV as I got everything prepared to go shopping.
It has been awhile since we've taken him anywhere so I had to stop and think of everything we needed. I grabbed his bag of medical supplies and checked to be sure it was properly stocked. His portable suction pump for his trach was ready to go.
The dogs had to be taken out before we could leave and then I had to back the van under the carport because it was raining pretty hard. As I started to go move the van I asked Brian if he was ready to go and he was just sitting there with his head hanging. I noticed big tears rolling down his cheeks. "Buddy, what's wrong, don't you want to go?" He shook his head no. He said he wasn't feeling good and just wanted to go back to bed. The tears came more freely then and I kneeled down to give him a big hug and he held on tight.
Well...it was nanny and poppy to the rescue! Mom called to say they were coming over to visit giving me the opportunity to slip out long enough to pick up the game for him. He also played several games of cards with them while I was gone. That put a smile back on his face.
I won't catch any fish with the new game but some things are more important than eating.
Thanks for your prayers!!
