Weathering the storm!
Posted 2 days ago
Naturally, severe weather rolls through town on one of the few occasions that I am away from home. Carol and Brian...I hesitate to say it..."were home alone" when the storm rolled through. I was a couple of blocks away and called Carol and asked her to try to get Brian into the hallway because the lightning was intense and the sky was black.
She managed to help him into the wheelchair and rolled him into the hallway. When it was safe for me to drive I hurried home to make sure they were OK. I called mom to see how things were in their part of town and she said the sun was out and there was a beautiful double rainbow.
We rolled Brian out on the back deck so that he could see the rainbow and enjoy a few minutes outside. He didn't last long, his leg was hurting him because of the excessive movement, and he wanted to get back into bed.
Our power went out around 7 and came back on around 1:30 this morning.
Brian is miserable. The tumors have exploded in growth in his face, his leg is still hurting him and he has an open wound that we can't get to heal on his neck above his trach. His personal storms rage on.
His nurse has tried several things to get it to heal but because his head is tilted forward, it doesn't get enough air to dry out. She called in an antibiotic to see if that will help. She also recommended raising Brian
