This time last year we were at Vanderbilt for the third time that November. Brian was flown twice by Lifestar and we drove him once because of excessive bleeding.
The day before Thanksgiving, the 26th, Brian had surgery to put in the g-tube because he couldn't eat solid food and had lost a lot of weight. Initially, we thought the tube would be temporary until he was able to eat normally again. We thought wrong. But the tube has been a blessing because Brian started gaining weight and his energy levels increased tremendously.
On Thanksgiving day he took his first meals through the tube, three bottles of formula. His Thanksgiving meal this year will be the same.
We are thankful that this year we will get to be with our families on Thanksgiving instead of in a small hospital room. THANK YOU, LORD!
We are thankful for our families who have been here for us offering and giving their love, prayers and support this past, long year. THANK YOU!
We are very thankful for each and every prayer lifted up to Heaven for us by each of you who have followed Brian's battle. THANK YOU! And your cards and gifts!! THANK YOU!
We are thankful for our employers who have understood and given so much to to help ease our burden. I am thankful for my co-workers who have stepped in and filled the void I have left in the schedule. THANK YOU!
We are thankful for all of our military personel presently serving and those that have served, both here and overseas. THANK YOU!
We are thankful for the police, fire and EMS personel for being here for us each day and for those working Thanksgiving day. THANK YOU!
We are thankful for those wonderful folks who sacrifice their time to volunteer and help the less fortunate during the holidays and year round. THANK YOU!
We are thankful for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for paying our sin debt on the cross. We believe He has provided and will continue to provide the strength and encouragement and comfort for us to endure this battle. He has answered your prayers!! And ours.
THANK YOU!!
