Brian's Battle - His third column...

Column number 3 is up!
Posted 2 days ago

Brian's third column is on-line now. Please go to: www.theknoxvillejournal.com and click on "faith" and then Brian's Battle.

The last two evenings have been rough with very little sleep for either of us. Brian did sleep on and off pretty much all day today.

Yesterday his pain levels were very high and he was asking for pain meds almost hourly. It is very hard on us when we have to tell him he needs to wait at least another hour before he can have them again. Some of his pain was in his neck from the way he had slept that morning. Typically, he leans forward and props his forehead on pillows but he was sleeping sitting up with his head tilted to one side.

We did manage to get in a couple of rounds of golf on consecutive evenings and Brian managed to beat by two strokes in both rounds. He must have been taking it easy on me!

I slept from around 8:30 or 9 until around midnight this evening, when I woke up with my stomach twisting and turning flip-flops. My stomach feels like I just got off of the Matterhorn ride at the fair after polishing off a couple of hot dogs and some cotton candy. I hope I haven't picked up a virus because I prefer keeping my cookies down. And, Brian certainly doesn't need it.

Otherwise, all is well!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!!

From Pete....I have not been able to keep up with everything so apologize for the lateness of this post.

Thanks Brian for your continued story about your disease and faith in God! You are a remarkable young man and so is your dad, mom and sister! God blessed you with good and loving parents and He blessed them with a special son to love and care for along with Jesus' faith in everyone! Keep writing Brian and May God Bless you and all your family with many days and years together in love and enjoyment of who you all are in Christ Jesus! Amen! Gamma & Ma Betty
