Brian's Battle - recent update

Pete in MI

Moved to a room.

Posted 13 hours ago

After being told that we would probably be in ICU for a couple of days due the lack of available rooms, we were surprised when they notified us that they had a room for us. Our ICU nurse said Brian must be a special patient if he already had a room.

His recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. By 2pm he was in his wheelchair and rolled down the hallway to the quiet room to watch the rainfall. He is very alert and has been reading and surfing the web on his laptop.

It is a little easier to understand him now. He mentioned that he could open his mouth a little further and that it was a little easier to swallow. Even with the swelling he looks much better (see picture).

We had a surprise visit from our good friend Mark who happened to be in Nashville on business for a couple of days. Thanks for stopping by Mark, we enjoyed the visit!

Carol is worn out and already in bed and Brian is waiting on his 10pm meds and to be hooked up to the feeding machine. Then Brian and I will try to get some sleep.

We know hundreds of people are praying for Brian and us and we really are thankful for each and every one of you who take the time to remember us in prayer.

God bless,

Doug and Carol
