Getting back to his ole self!

Mr Independent Is back!

This morning Brians trachea needed suctioning and he refused to let me or his nurse help. He struggled and struggled to get it clear and refused all of my attempts to get him to just change out the inner canula.

After working on it a few minutes he finally got it cleared and then lifted his head of the pillow and managed to open his eyes at me. His nurse burst out laughing and said, "Brian, are you trying to say...SEE DAD...I told you so?!"

He is 16 and knows it all...you know!

Brian had a very good night and doesn't appear to have swollen much more overnight. That is a good sign because we may get a regular room today.

Carol slept in the sleep room and I stayed in ICU with Brian last night and we both got a good nights rest. All our nurse have been awesome and our night shift nurse was no exception. She took such good care of Brian I didn't have to get up once to help out. Plus, Brian slept good most of the night.

His bleeding appears to have stopped and his spunk has returned. I think we are on the road to recovery.

Thank you...very much...for your thoughts and prayers!

Doug, Carol and Brian

Praise God for Jesus, Who is the great physician and the One Who healeth thee! Glad to hear about Brian's determination...it means he is feeling better and wants to do things for himself! May God keep on blessing each of you! Amen! Ma Betty
