Surgery scheduled.
Posted 2 hours ago

Brian wrote the following in the van on the way home from Vanderbilt. It is for his story in this weeks edition of The Knoxville Journal. I

Love you Brian and family and praying for a successful surgery with your ability to see if you should decide to have the surgery! God will be guiding the surgeon's hands while operating on the tumors and in Jesus' loving care, you will make it through just fine for He is for you and will see you through every trial....just keep leaning on and trusting in Jesus, and no matter what happens in this life, you will always be safe with Jesus, as your Lord and Savior, for He loves you with an everlasting love and is good to His family of which you are a part of as one of His Children! Amen! Ma Betty

You are still touching so many lives. More than you will ever know.
God bless you little brother.
You are my hero.

Mike

...your prayers are really appreciated. The surgery is touchy...losing his sight is the least of our worries. His surgeon has to explain all the risks and losing his sight is unlikely with the surgery. The main issues are: Will he lose too much blood during surgery and will they be able to stop the bleeding? We have to get enough blood for a transfusion if needed. Are there enough blood vessels left feeding his face so that the incisions will heal? If not, the incisions will not heal increasing the risk of infection. After the angiograms done last year many blood vessels feeding his face have been blocked. Will the tumors grow back even faster because he is going through puberty? Probably. Plus, the surgery could cause the uncontrollable bleeding that sent him to Vanderbilt last year and they won't be able to stop it. There are too many unknowns. But, if we don't do surgery loss of eyesight in at least one eye is definite. They have us scheduled for 5-7 days in the hospital.

December 14th will come way too soon.

Thanks to all who keep us lifted up in prayer!!

Still praying for Brian and you and family! I know God is still a prayer answering God and His will shall be done! Just put all your faith into Jesus' care and then whatever happens, you all have the knowledge that God is our All in all and His ways are not our ways many times, but He doesn't forget His own who are going to Him in prayer for Brian and for others who are in ill health or have diseases! You are welcome for our prayers and I know they will be continued! Hope the weather isn't too cold or snowy when he has to go into the hospital and may you all be kept safe traveling the highways and byways! Amen! Ma Betty

My heart goes out to you all...wish there was something we could do to ease your worry. Know that we are praying more than ever. Thanks for the update, Doug. Love to you all.
