Took the Ace out for it's first spin yesterday. It was another lovely warmish 43'C (113'F) so the risk of frostbite from the snow was a bit lower.
It was a bit warm for headphones, so I put a couple of layers of yellow electrical tape over the speaker, notched out pull tabs and I was off.
I had almost forgotten how efficient the yellow fellow was. The pinpoint feedback is pretty good and even if the traffic was too loud to hear the speaker, you can still easily tell whether you get a bell tone or mid tone by the vibe the speakers creates through both the hand grip and arm cuff.
I hunted in one of my favourite spots, a park that hosts the local farmers market. Pickings have been pretty slime here most of the year, even though I'd let it go for a few markets. Sometimes I'm lucky to find a coin of any description. Yesterday, I pulled up $11.25, which is well above normal for this site of late. Just like US 5c pieces, Aussie 5c pieces are in pull tab range but do give the occasional bounce down to notch 3, which is the reason I ID-ed it without having to get bombarded with so many pull tabs sounding off.
Altogether, having the Ace again is great, especially having it operate so quietly is real easy on the ear and I missed the speed and accuracy of it's pinpoint.
I guess I'd better set a goal with it. That goal will be to have it pay for itself by Christmas. Just to make things a bit interesting.
