broken arm cuff

A few days ago i discovered a crack in the arm cuff. I've been swinging an Explorer S for a couple a years and to tell the truth i didn't think that cuff would hold up even that long. Not complaining about the operation just the planned obsolescents of todays throw away world. In any case i found a solution with a new cuff from
jjherke@yahoo.com. His cuff is heavy duty aluminium with a built in stand for keeping off the ground. An added feature which sold me was a built in converter for the 1/8" jack input for headphones. Now i can plug in a 1/4" jack into the Minelab. This is a big plus for me because i also hunt with a Whites DFX and i use a set of Jolly Rogers headphones with the 1/4" jack. No more carrying two sets of head phones with different plug ins. I can't supply a picture of this cuff but if you contact Jeff at that e-mail i'm sure he can. Tell him Paul sent you. Its a great product..

Sounds like you got the problem fixed.........:) I had the same problem on my XS and called Minelab in Las Vegas and thet sent me the newer and more stronger arm cuff at no charge. They are good people down there. HH.

Several variations made of metal are made and use a XLT type of velcro armstrap...I believe Bill Babbs is one of the fellows that makes them and will outlast the detector itself...Newer black ones are stronger, but even heard of them cracking...
