Broken hand grip

Dick from NC

New member
The grip broke at the base of the grip on my T2. If I repair it myself will that void the warranty? I can fiberglass it and keep on detecting but I don't know if it will void the warranty.

I agree. I've also taped up the lower shaft connect at the loop connector to add strength, because it started to get loose. There won't be any problem to fix the hand grip I just didn't know if it would void the warranty by doing it myself.

But does it affect the warranty to make a temporary repair until I can send it in. This is the prime relic hunting time. I don't know if I can go that long without going hunting.

In the middle of a relic hunt and one side of the handgrip just snapped so instead of glueing it i just piled on a half roll of electrical tape and man is it solid now. That way i can just take the tape off if i want to send it in. Good luck,

With a temporary repair I'm ready to head to North Myrtle, South Carolina for a little beach hunting.

Yep, mine broke several times. I only sent it back once. The rest of the time I fixed myself. Since I got the T2 the Explorer has been sitting against the wall.
