I took my trusty old Elite 2200 out today in about 32 degree F weather and got the impression that the cold temperature adversely effected its operation. It seemed to produce signals that were difficult to get again.. inconsistent, if you will.

Have any of you experienced this phenomena?

Had same problem twice going to the beach early in the morning with low temps. I figured the detector was staying out of tune going from inside the car nice and warm to nearly freezing. All Metal mode is just about impossible unit the temp of the unit stabilizes. Hope this helps..

My 505 is definitely sensitive to cold, I usually have to rest the ground track two or three times in ten minute intervals before it settles down and really start performing right. ( going from warm car to cold air) Ed in co.
