got in a 4 hour hunt on sat. Yes it was cold! the ground was frozen to about 1 and 1/2 inch mark. managed to find a buckle and button, a glass stopper with metal top, and a copper disk that may have been a 'flying cent'.

I think my EX II was wondering what the heck we were doing outside in those temps, esp. as sun set.
p.s. I thought I had dug some melted spanish gold cobs but when I got them home and cleaned them - they were golf ball sized melted lead hunks. Sorry no pics from the field!

referring to melted spanish gold cobs is a joke. Somebody on White's forum posted a copy of a gold cob just dug and I guess didn't fool us. hence my p.s. in above post.
I did dig some rather large hunks of melted lead on Sat. but they could never be mistaken for gold unless you were drunk.

yeah, those coppers come out nasty in pa. sometimes.
the nicest ones i ever dug were in oh.. they come out of the ground good there. they come out pretty good in va. too.
glad to see you got out.
