Button for "S" handled GP3500

I needed a fast track button on my GP3500, but to suit my "S" handle that I prefer...
So I went to a marine supplier and got a bowknuckle, complete with the small lug that takes the tubing for the hoop support.
I drilled a hole big enough to take the body of the button;( that I removed from the standard GP3500 handle,) then drilled a hole to let the smart-point plug pass through.
It's not hard to get this button assy. out of the std. handle
{ Pull off the strap ring from on top of the handle,pull off the foam grip,the button will easily come out of the hole in the top of the handle...}

Impressive! Looks very clean & neat! Almost like it was part of the original equipment.
Btw what does the button do?

Jim,it's the ground tracking button on the Minelab GP3500...
If you are detecting in fixed mode;( for deeper results,) to quickly re-set your ground balance you just press the button, and the unit ground tracks while the button is pressed.
Or on the other hand if you are detecting in the tracking mode...
And press the button,as long as the button is being pressed you are in fixed ground balance mode
~ for pinpointing or maybe checking a deep/faint target...
