Was out today for about 3 hours.....found 11 Burnside cart. , 8 Spencer cart. , 7 bullets.....all assumed to be U.S.......no sign of C.S. items around.......all found in an area about 18 x 25 feet ( a small hill in a corn field) .....after all this U.S. stuff....came across this....it seems to be a CS buckle or plate, but not too sure. Can anyone help ID this thing, or have a website that might help reference it ? It is 2 inches round.

After a little more research.....I think it is a little too heavy to be a rosette......the surface is with out a doubt 2 inch Brass, but the back seems to be lead filled.....making it about a 1/2 pound.....do any of you know of a "lead filled rosette"...???:minelab:
